About
Amy Reid is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Counseling, Marriage, Child and Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix. She is available to assist in empowering you to overcome anxiety/depression/stress to move toward a happy, calm, peaceful, and productive life through a person-centered approach. She has years of experience in helping couples, individuals, families, children, and adolescents overcome and address a wide variety of life problems including, but not limited to mental illness, trauma, anxiety, relational problems, anger, infidelity, addiction, and life transitions. She has personal experience overcoming paralyzing fears, health problems, and life challenges. She has experience working with people in various settings (in-home, outpatient, school, detention, and residential). She has owned and run a host home for developmentally disabled adults empowering them to achieve greater independence. She is a Navy veteran who specializes in treating adults, adolescents, children, and families who need assistance in overcoming anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, grief, conflict, and a wide range of life challenges.
Amy is often described as non-judgemental, empathic, genuine, curious, accepting, creative, strength-based, insightful, warm, supportive, empowering, present, insightful, and solution-focused. She is client-centered and eclectic in her approach and utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Functional Family Therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, mindfulness, Behavior Activation Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Narrative, Existential Therapy, ABA, and Motivational Interviewing.
Amy enjoys hiking, fishing, photography, exploring, Shamanic Energy healing, Reiki (level 2 practitioner), Munay Ki, spiritual development, breathwork, meditation, and spending time with family in her free time.
