About
Elisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, currently providing virtual services from the east coast. She utilizes an integrative approach, pulling mainly from her transpersonal person-centered orientation and mindfulness training. Some tools she may use with clients include narrative therapy, mCBT, gestalt, solution-focused interventions, enneagram, and expressive arts, while building skills to increase mindfulness, distress tolerance, and grounding practices. Elisa is passionate about working alongside clients in crafting new narratives for themselves featuring empowered choices, nonjudgmental attitudes, and the grace of self- acceptance. She supports clients in growing beyond trauma with increased freedom in day-to-day living. She is unafraid to explore paradox and find comfort in the unknown. Elisa invites into session the possibility of surprising yourself by disproving negative self-talk and affirming the very real impact of our collective and individual trauma. Elisa believes in utilizing gratitude for our strengths in forging a new way forward.
Elisa studied psychology, sociology, and fine arts at New York University, where she completed her honors thesis on the topic of attitudes of gender bias in science careers. After graduation, she navigated jobs in administration, retail, childcare, jewelry design, and management while learning how she wanted to be of service in the world. This decade-plus of self-exploration ultimately led her to a Masters degree from Naropa University in Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Counseling. She has worked in college- and high school-settings, community- based case management, and specialized treatment for first-episode psychosis in teens and young adults. In private practice, she is excited to offer a holistic, person-centered approach to mindful exploration of your path to a life worth living. She offers support in spiritual development, honoring a diversity of wisdom traditions, tools, and practices. Some areas of special interest include working with personal narratives, navigating times of transition, and strengthening self-image with radical authenticity. She is here to walk alongside you on this journey. Humor is one of her tools for revealing truth, testing new perspectives, and connecting with the present moment. Clients have reflected on feeling seen for their authentic selves. They have confronted fear with curiosity and self-compassion, and they’ve experienced increased willingness to be vulnerable in the unknown. Please reach out for a free consultation to explore how she can collaborate in determining and reaching your goals.
Outside of work, you can find Elisa spending time connecting with nature, solving puzzles of all kinds, catching up on podcasts, laughing, road-tripping, and caregiving family. Elisa connects with her creativity via painting, collage, fiber arts, cooking, and contemplative photography. She honors her introverted personality with abundant quiet time and a lifelong passion for learning.
