About
Are you ready to feel confident as a clinician?
Michelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. Michelle has over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked with a vast array of clients including: sexual assault survivors, natural disaster survivors, children in the foster care system, and unaccompanied refugee minors. Michelle has also provided supervision to masters-level students seeking licensure in Colorado.
Michelle’s approach to supervision is highly relational in nature. Just like with clients, it is necessary to build rapport and trust within the supervisory relationship. She’s been there! She gets how intimidating and vulnerable this work can be. Therefore, she will always approach her supervisees with non-judgment and curiosity. It is also important that her supervisees experience growth in their clinical work. To ensure this happens, when appropriate, Michelle will assist in identifying clinical goals for her supervisees, engage in periodic evaluation, and help develop her supervisees’ unique clinical orientation.
Michelle adheres to an eclectic approach to therapy, relying heavily on somatic-based interventions. She also uses Internal Family Systems to conceptualize the human psyche. In addition, she incorporates attachment- based theories, CBT, and narrative therapy. Michelle is also trained in EMDR.
